Casa Hortensia, was born a quarter of a century ago in C/ Olivares, 6, under the direction of its founders, Doña Hortensia (Silver Medal by the Association of Amer and recognition to the work), Don José Luis Núñez and Doña Adela Besteiro. Our philosophy, has positioned us before a fixed and faithful clientele, to which we always take care of with all the possible affection and care. After his long career, Casa Hortensia Restaurant receives a variety of awards and merits to its traditional Asturian cuisine. It has been chosen this 2015 as the best fabada of Madrid, within the celebration of the I Ruta de la Fabada in Madrid, which takes place in the capital since last 16th and until next February 1st.

In the Asturias Building, in the heart of the Chueca district, is Casa Hortensia, the Asturian corner par excellence in Madrid. In charge of its kitchen is Adela Besteiro, the nationally and internationally renowned chef. Its founders are Doña Hortensia and Don José Luis Núñez.
Homemade dishes based on Asturian cuisine. If you like fabada, this is definitely the place you have to come. In 2015 Casa Hortensia was selected as the restaurant with the best fabada in Madrid. From Asturias, Adela personally chooses the beans, which are harvested exclusively for Casa Hortensia. In her stoves, they are cooked for 3 to 4 hours, getting that special point. Casa Hortensia, a benchmark of Asturian gastronomy in the heart of Madrid.

A lifetime in the kitchen, her know-how and the recognition of her clients and the media have made Adela Besteiro a reference in Asturian cuisine.

Executive Chef with great impact at a national and international level. All her effort and dedication make her a genius in the preparation and presentation of her dishes. With the selection of high quality raw materials, it makes the best ASTURIAN FABES that do not go unnoticed by any palate that eats at home.

Arriving from her native Galicia with no culinary knowledge, it was the previous owner of the restaurant, Hortensia Hernández, who «godmothered» her in the kitchen, bequeathing her recipes such as her fabada reputation, which, to the delight of her regular and future clientele, It will continue to be used for many years, since Adela has in turn passed it on to her daughter, Anabel Núñez. The tradition passed to the next generation.

Casa Hortensia Restaurant offers its clients a wide range of possibilities with its different dining rooms. We put at your disposal a private dining room with capacity for 50 people, a reserved room for 25 people, and two general dining rooms (area «Covadonga» for 50 people and «Taurino» room for 26 people). In Casa Hortensia we guarantee quality in a warm and welcoming environment, for your meals, whether personal or business.

Casa Hortensia presents on the 3rd floor. Our Cider House, with two areas where you can continue enjoying the authentic Asturian cuisine, in the cider house area, there is a more informal atmosphere, but cozy and friendly.
In our cider house you can also enjoy our restaurant, as cozy as the original restaurant that we offer on the 2nd floor and with the same menu of dishes.

Our tasty homemade dishes, based on traditional Asturian and Galician cuisine, with special mention to the bean stew, roast lamb, baked sea bream, hake delicacies Roman style, will satisfy the most demanding palates. It is also worth mentioning our delicious Asturian omelette, which we guarantee will surprise you in body and flavor.
